AORS holds its Annual General Members Meeting each winter, late February or early March. At this meeting, in addition to business matters requiring member approval, the Board and Management present highlights of the audited financial statements and key accomplishments from the previous fiscal year, and a summary of the objectives for the coming year. Various awards are presented, and the new slate of Corporate Directors is inducted.
The AGM is usually held in conjunction with the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) Conference in Toronto, at the Fairmont Royal York. However, due to the pandemic, both the OGRA Conference and the AORS AGM were held virtually in 2021. It was decided to hold the AORS AGM on a different date to avoid conflicting with the OGRA Conference events. It was held on Thursday March 11, and included a welcome message from Premier Doug Ford, and a keynote presentation by Jim Harris: Emerging Trends and Technologies in Municipal Public Works. Mr. Harris is a renowned speaker, author and futurist who discussed how these trends and technologies will affect municipal public works and road operations in the years to come.
