Update on Proposed Locate Fees
AORS would like to take the opportunity to provide an update on the advocacy we have taken on your behalf regarding Enbridge’s proposed locate fees. Thank you to every municipality who took the opportunity to pass the resolution we shared opposing the proposed locate fees and send these resolutions to Minister Kaleed Rasheed and Minister Todd Smith, among their other provincial ministerial colleagues.
We are happy to share a letter co-signed by both Minister Rasheed and Minister Smith outlining their intention to consult on potential options that could prohibit fees being charged by utility companies around infrastructure locates.
Additionally, the letter also confirms that the new effective date on the AP regulations coming into effect has been pushed out a year until April 1, 2024.
