Len Phillippi named AORS 2023 Driver of the Year

Professional, safe driving skills were on full display at the AORS Annual Provincial Safety Truck Roadeo at the Eastlink Arena in Clinton, ON on September 20, 2023 with a dash of friendly competition. Huron County Road Supervisors Association were the proud hosts of a record setting number of competitors, with 38 of the top municipal drivers representing their local associations and competing for cash, prizes and the ‘John Gloor Memorial Trophy’ – the best equipment operator award in Ontario Public Works. A special shout-out to the West Parry Sound Road Supervisors Association who hosted their very first local association Roadeo in order to send their two top drivers!

Both drivers representing the Bruce County Public Works Association plowed through the competition and came out in first and second place respectively. Len Phillippi, from the Township of Arran-Elderslie, finished with an impressive score of 359, out of a possible 370 points, placing first and winning both the John Gloor Memorial Trophy, and the title of “Driver Of The Year”. Casey Hillier, also an employee with the Township of Arran-Elderslie, finished with a score of 325, taking second place. Second runner-up for the event was Lonnie Liedtke from the County of Renfrew.

Thank you to Joe Ryan CRS-I, Brady Nolan CRS-I and the rest of the Huron County Road Supervisors Association for a job well done!
